Milton daycare teacher facing child porn charges

Last Updated Apr 28, 2016 at 4:27 pm EDT

Some Milton parents are worrying whether their kids were victimized by a teacher allegedly involved in child pornography.

Police charged a teacher who worked at the Milton Community Resource Centre Photo with accessing and possessing child pornography.

Steven Campbell, 37, from Brampton, was released on bail on Tuesday.

According to a mother whose child attends the daycare, Campbell taught kids who are between 2.5 and 4 years old.

The mother, who does not want to be identified, says the daycare sent a letter to parents that only said that someone at the daycare was arrested and charged with child pornography.

The mom says she is concerned because the letter did not indicate if any of the kids at the daycare are involved.

According to Campbell’s Facebook page, he started working at the daycare in 2013.

The mom adds that parents whose children don’t attend the daycare anymore are also upset because they didn’t get the letter.

Campbell is scheduled to return to court on May 16.

Sources tell CityNews that the investigation was international, involving more than 25 police forces.

The OPP say “the results of (the) investigations will be formally announced at a multi-jurisdiction media conference in Toronto on Thursday, April 28, 2016, beginning at 10 a.m.”
