A Toronto woman is facing charges in connection with 14 distraction thefts, and police believe there may be more victims.
The thefts started last August.
Police say the 35-year-old woman would drive in a car with a man. She would stop people and ask them for help, and then engage them in conversation
Often targeting the elderly and the disabled, she would offer her victims jewelry while removing the jewelry they were wearing in the process.
Mihaela Miclescu was arrested on Saturday and charged with 14 counts of theft under $5,000. She was scheduled to appear in court the next day.
