Texas man charged with manslaughter in death of Kitchener four

A Texas man faces four counts of manslaughter in connection with a wrong-way crash last month that took the lives of four Ontarians.

Kyle Police say Wilson Rene Molinares, 22, has been arraigned and bond has been set at $1 million.

A driver was travelling the wrong way on Interstate 35 on Feb. 19, and hit a minivan. Two men, a woman and a 16-month-old in the minivan died at the scene. Two young girls, who were also in the minivan, were hospitalized and later released.

The dead have been identified as Heinrich Martens, 31, Gerhard Hiebert Peters, 30, Margaretha Wall Hildebrandt, 27, and 16-month-old Jacob Wall Hiebert.

Police have not said if Molinares was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
