Police arrest man after alleged armed street robbery in Etobicoke

A man has been arrested after a loaded firearm was used to threaten a man during a street robbery in Rexdale on Sunday.

Officers responded to a call for a street robbery around 8 a.m. in the area of Kipling Avenue and John Garland Boulevard.

According to police, a 23-year-old man was approached by a man who demanded he turn over his money to him. When he refused, the accused produced a handgun and fled on foot.

Police were able to locate the man and found a loaded handgun.

Jerome Campbell, 23, of Toronto has been charged with multiple firearm related offences including robbery with an offensive weapon, careless storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday at 2201 Finch Avenue West.
