The GTA and much of southern Ontario are under a freezing drizzle advisory.
On Monday afternoon, Environment Canada said several areas – including Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, and Richmond Hill – could experience some slippery roads and parking lots.
Later on Monday, the advisory expanded to include more of southern Ontario, including Hamilton, Niagara, Sarnia, London, Waterloo, and Belleville.
The drizzle is expected to last well into the evening.
The drizzle could make untreated roads and walkways slippery in spots, the federal agency warned. Parking lots, too, may become icy and slippery.
The ice produced by freezing drizzle can be thin and hard to detect, so GTA residents are advised to take extra care when walking or driving.
