Police from York and Peel regions are asking for any possible victims to come forward after it was determined that two violent sexual assaults, one in Richmond Hill and the other in Mississauga, are connected.
Around midnight on Sept. 27, 2013, a woman was getting off a bus in the South Service Road and Crestview Avenue area of Mississauga when an unknown male produced a weapon. He then allegedly grabbed the woman and pulled her to a darkened area where she was sexually assaulted. Police say she sustained minor injuries.
On Nov. 13, a woman was exiting a bus at Yonge Street and Bernard Avenue in Richmond Hill around 12:30 a.m. when she was approached by an unknown male who demanded money. He then pulled her into a darkened area and sexually assaulted her. Police say the victim was sent to hospital with injuries.
On Monday police released the following video reenactment of the Mississauga attack in the hopes that someone will come forward with information.
In both instances the suspect was described as having light to medium skin tone, between five-foot-10-inches to six-feet tall with a muscular build. He was also wearing a covering over his face.
Police say the suspect appears to target victims with a slight build who get off transit buses after dark.
