Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam will take on the title role of Christian Grey in the screen adaption of the international best seller Fifty Shades of Grey.

Focus Entertainment announced the casting on Monday.

Dakota Johnson, daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, has been cast as Anastasia Steele.

The 2011 erotic romance novel by British author E. L. James deals with the relationship between a college graduate and a young business tycoon.

The book quickly became a regular topic on talk shows due to its highly sexual subject matter, including bondage and S&M.

To date, the Fifty Shades trilogy has sold over 70 million copies worldwide.

The film is scheduled to be released in 2014.
