A man had been dead for several days before his body was found during a house fire Friday morning in the city’s north end , Toronto police say.
Firefighters were called to the home on Cummer Avenue, near Bayview and Finch avenues, around 1 a.m.
It’s believed the fire began on the back porch and spread into the attic. It’s not yet known how the fire began.
It was knocked down shortly after 5 a.m.
The victim, who has not been identified, was dead before the fire began.
The fire is suspicious, police said.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office, the coroner and the forensics unit are investigating.
