Toronto police have charged two men with attempted murder after a series of pre-dawn raids in the city on Thursday.
Police said the arrests are connected to a violent 2009 robbery, when an employee of an east-end pawn shop was shot in the stomach.
On Thursday, the Emergency Task Force searched several locations, including an apartment building on Victoria Park Avenue south of Lawrence Avenue and another on Graydon Hill Drive, and took several people into custody.
Later that day, police said the sweep was connected to the Feb. 25, 2009 armed robbery of the Swap Shop at 1448 Lawrence Ave. E.
Officers had issued a renewed appeal for information just a few weeks ago, looking specifically for a female witness. The video appeal was posted on YouTube.
Bevon Marshall, 22, and a 21-year-old man, both of Toronto, are facing multiple charges. Police said the 21-year-old will not be identified because he was a young offender at the time of the incident.
Marshall and the 21-year-old are charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and failure to comply with probation, among other charges.
