Several big-name, international retailers will soon be setting up shop in one of Toronto’s largest malls.
Starting this month twelve new retailers, including six first-to-Canada and three new-to-Toronto brands, will be coming to the Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
“Canadian shoppers no longer need to travel to shop the world’s best brands,” Yorkdale general manager Anthony Casalanguida said in a release on Monday.
Among the brands coming to Canada for the first time are British fashion retailers AllSaints and Mulberry, American men’s designer John Varvatos, women’s clothing boutique White House|Black Market and jewelry designer David Yurman.
Spanish owned furnishing store Zara Home will also be opening its doors for the first time in Canada. Although there was no official date released for the Yorkdale store’s grand opening, the company’s online store becomes available to Canadians as of Wednesday.
Italian luxury boutique Ferragamo will be opening its second Canadian location, and its first in Toronto.
“Yorkdale continues to attract global brands as their entry point into the Canadian market because of the quality of our existing retail mix, real estate and access to much of the GTA’s population,” said Casalanguida.
Canadian retailer Holt Renfrew will double the size of its store this year, while The Bay and Harry Rosen will open redesigned locations in the fall.
LEGO will also be launching its 100th global location this spring.
In November, Yorkdale reopened its doors as a luxury-goods retail location following a $220-million, 145,000 square foot expansion and renovation. The new look was accompanied by the introduction of high end retailers Kate Spade, Ann Taylor Loft, Microsoft and Tesla Motors.
