The Sheepdogs and the Tragically Hip are among the nominees for the 2013 Juno Awards, joining newcomers Carly Rae Jepsen (of Call Me Maybe fame) and Walk Off The Earth, known for acoustic covers of pop hits.
Southern-rock throwbacks The Sheepdogs took home three awards at last year’s Junos, while the Hip have amassed 14 trophies in the course of their career.
Jepsen, meanwhile, was nominated for best new artist and songwriter of the year at the 2010 Junos – but has never won.

Jepsen, Celine Dion, Hedley, Justin Bieber and Marianas Trench are nominated for album of the year.
Jepsen and Hedley are also nominated for single of the year, alongside The Sheepdogs, Billy Talent and Serena Ryder.
The Tragically Hip and The Sheepdogs are nominated for rock album of the year.
Burlington-based Walk Off The Earth gained YouTube fame with their cover of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know. They’re nominated for best breakthrough artist.
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences preside over the awards, which will be handed out in Regina on April 21.
Crooner Michael Buble will host and perform, while eight-time Juno winner k.d. lang will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
Jepsen, Marianas Trench and Billy Talent are also scheduled to perform at the award ceremony.
