A driver who was heading the wrong way on the Gardiner Expressway was arrested Friday morning and charged with impaired driving.

Toronto police stopped the 23-year-old man at Parkside Drive just before 4 a.m. He was heading east in the westbound lanes, travelling at about 60 km/h.

Incredibly, he did not hit anything or anyone.

Police said that the driver was one of four taken into custody on Friday morning on suspicion of impaired driving.

Tudor Alexandru Stefanescu, 23, is charged with impaired driving, having a blood-alcohol level over 80 milligrams, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
