York region police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed in Vaughan.

The man, believed to be in his 70s, was struck on Dufferin Hill Drive, near Rutherford Road and Dufferin Street, around 8:35 a.m. Friday.

The driver, who is in his 20s, remained on scene. He was driving a white GMC Safari van, police said.

Roads in the area are closed as police investigate.

It happened just blocks away from a crash that killed a female pedestrian last week.
