Former Toronto Blue Jay Roberto Alomar is among those marrying on 12/12/12 – a rare and lucky set of repeating numbers that won’t be seen again for another 88 years.

The next time a similar numerological alignment will occur is on Jan. 1, 2101 (01/01/01).

Alomar, who wore #12 during his time with the Jays, retweeted a blog post confirming that he would marry Kim Perks on Wednesday but he’s not the only one tying the knot.

In Toronto, city hall staff have opened an extra room to accommodate those looking to get hitched at the Civic Wedding Chambers.

David’s Bridal has some 381 brides registered who say they’ll be getting hitched on 12-12-12 in Canada alone.

Clark County in Nevada, which encompasses self-proclaimed “Wedding Capital of the World” Las Vegas, is anticipating Dec. 12, 2012 to be “an especially popular day to get married.”

According to CNN, it’s a good date to start a new business venture or make a significant purchase.

It’s also a good day for doing good:  Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones will be part of an historic concert for Hurricane Sandy relief at Madison Square Gardens on Wednesday night.  Alicia Keys, Jon Bon Jovi and Billy Joel will also perform.
