Icy conditions led to nearly 70 crashes in York Region on Sunday and police are warning that some roads in the area will still be slippery on Monday morning.

One of the more serious – a three-car crash in Unionville – sent one woman to hospital. The crash happened around 9 p.m. Sunday near 16th Avenue and Kennedy Road.

Emergency crews also had to deal with a 15-car pileup on Highway 407 at Warden Avenue. Icy roads played a factor in both collisions, police said.

A milder morning is in the forecast for Monday.

A freezing rain warning issued by Environment Canada has ended and in Toronto, the temperature will reach a high of 7 C.

Flurries are possible north of the city.
