Hamilton police have made an arrest in the city’s sixth murder this year but have not yet identified the victim.

A man was found bleeding heavily from his neck near Blake Street and Maplewood Avenue around 3 p.m. on Thursday and later died.

Police said the victim got into a fight with another person at a nearby home and the fight spilled into the street.

The suspect surrendered to police just before midnight and was charged with second degree murder.

Police said the suspect’s name would be released after he appears in court.

The victim has not yet been identified.
