A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle near Dundas Street West and Kipling Avenue.

Police say it happened around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday on Shornecliffe Road.

The 56-year-old was crossing the street near Dundas when he was struck by a Honda Civic travelling southbound.

The man was rushed to hospital.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old man, remained on scene.

Shornecliffe was closed in both directions for several hours while police conducted their investigation. The street has since reopened.
