An 11-year-old girl who was struck by a train in London, Ont. on Saturday has died.

A witness told CityNews the girl was running and giggling with another girl as they headed in the direction of the tracks at Third Street near Dundas Street.

The girl was hit by a westbound train around 4:30 p.m.

She was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but later died.

The London Free Press reports the young girl’s name was Kendra Cameron.  A memorial has been set up near the spot where she was killed.

An investigation is ongoing, but the death has been ruled accidental.
