The third annual Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market is underway in the Distillery Historic District.

The event, which runs until Dec. 16, kicked off on Friday evening with the lighting of a 45-foot decorated Christmas tree.

The Christmas Market, which is a free annual event, showcases hundreds of one-of-a-kind, locally handcrafted products. And it has something for everyone from a carousel, to building a gingerbread house and visits with Santa Claus.

Special guest Measha Brueggergosman performed Friday. Choirs and brass bands will play all weekend.

A wine and beer garden has been set up to help beat the cold temperatures this weekend.
