Fire crews battled a massive blaze that broke out at an RV and mobile home sales lot near Barrie, Tuesday.

The fire broke out at the Hitch House, near 2 Line South and Highway 11.

Officials say the fire began in the showroom and quickly intensified, destroying the building as well as eight RVs located inside.

The fire continues to smoulder but is under control. Crews remain on scene.

The blaze was so large fire crews from neighbouring areas were called in to assist.

Highway 11 was closed in both directions in the area of the blaze for approximately three hours. It has since reopened.

The Ontario Fire Marshalls office has been called in to investigate but at this time the fire is not considered suspicious.

It is estimated that the cost of the damage caused by the fire is in the multi-millions.
