A 15-year-old boy is facing several charges, including aggravated assault, after a stabbing in the east end on Friday night.

Police allege the teen stabbed a 20-year-old man several times after a verbal confrontation.

The victim suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. in the Queen Street East and Carroll Street area, near Broadview Avenue. Police say a streetcar driver stopped to help after spotting the victim.

“A TTC driver arriving on scene observed this male in distress, stopped his streetcar and rendered medical assistance,” Det. Robert Whalen told CityNews. “At this point he called 911.”

The teen is also facing charges of carry concealed weapon, weapons dangerous, and fail to comply with recognizance.

His name can’t be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
