Dozens of people were forced to leave their homes Friday morning after two separate fires, one near Keele Street and Finch Avenue, and another on Bloor Street West.

Firefighters were called to 2677 Kipling Ave. around 2 a.m. after flames erupted in a garbage chute. Several people had to leave their units due to the smoke.

TTC buses were brought in to shelter the residents while firefighters doused the blaze.

There’s no word yet on a cause or damage estimate.

And buses were also brought in to shelter about 10 people forced out of their homes after a fire on Bloor just west of Dovercourt Road.

Crews were called to 1011 Bloor St. W. at Westmoreland Avenue around 4 a.m. Firefighters managed to knock the blaze down quickly.

There’s no word yet on a cause of damage estimate.
