Police are searching for a potential sex offender after a girl was almost nabbed while walking through a Scarborough park.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Two girls were walking through Farquharson Park, near Sheppard Avenue East and Brimley Road, when they were approached by a man.

The man then grabbed one of the girls and covered her mouth with his hand when she screamed.

He then fled the scene.

The suspect is described as white, five-foot-eight to five-foot-10-inches tall, 30-40. He was last seen wearing a green/grey ball cap, a puffy jacket and blue jeans. He may have short or shaved hair with a goatee.
