A City of Toronto crew is working to repair a water main break on Lower Jarvis Street before it topples a nearby crane.

Water began to leak around 6:30 a.m. If the water levels get too high, there is a chance construction equipment in the area could fall over.

By 12:30 p.m., the water had been turned off, but police said the cleanup was still a “continuing issue.”

The intersection of Lower Jarvis and The Esplanade is expected to be closed for several hours as crews repair the damage.
