Police have found a missing Scarborough woman who was last seen in Peterborough.

Moira McKoy, 85, asked for directions back to Toronto on Thursday afternoon, but never arrived.

She was found at a gas station in Oavkille on Friday afternoon, in good physical health.

Toronto Police and Ontario Provincial Police were involved in the search. She was found by Halton police.

The woman’s son, Olympic gold medal hurdler Mark McKoy, said his mother has no known medical conditions and described her as “mentally and physically sound.”

“For her to be in Peterborough is a mystery to us,” he said.

She had taken and passed a driver’s test Thursday morning and went to renew her driver’s licence in Scarborough before she disappeared, Mark McKoy said.
