The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has expanded the recall list of beef products from Alberta’s XL Foods.

The beef may be contaminated with E. coli.

Eleven products were added to the list, which already includes hundreds of products sold at various stores across Canada and the United States.

The affected products are associated with the same XL Foods manufacturing dates of Aug. 24, 27, 28, 29 and Sept. 5, 2012.

The plant’s licence was suspended on Sept. 27 due to inadequate food safety controls.

The cuts of beef are listed below, but the CFIA warns unlabelled meat, like that sold at small butcher shops and not large grocery stores, may also be affected.

Consumers should check with the store to see if their beef is affected.
