A 16-year-old boy faces numerous criminal offences following an alleged sex assault and robberies in Toronto’s northeast end.

Police accuse the teen of approaching a woman in a park near Timberbank Boulevard, near Finch Avenue East and Birchmount Road, at 7 p.m. Monday, and robbing the victim of her cellphone and purse at knifepoint. He’s also accused of sexually assaulting the woman before fleeing the area.

The accused then approached two other women in the nearby area and robbed one of them of her purse at knifepoint, police said.

He was arrested a short time later.

The youth faces charges of robbery, disguise with intent, dangerous weapons, breach of recognizance and sexual assault with a weapon.

The teen, whose name is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.

Police believe there may be more victims.
