Three teenagers are dead after a weekend car accident near Orangeville.

Melanie Olien, 14, died in hospital Sunday after the single-vehicle crash on Saturday night.

The driver, 17-year-old Brody Ferenczi, and passenger Bradley Brooks, also 17, were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth occupant in the Mazda 3 suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Police said the vehicle left the road and hit a tree on the 2nd Line in Amaranth Township just after 7 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities say alcohol has been ruled out as a possible cause. However, investigators are looking into whether speed and weather — the gravel road may have been wet from rain at the time — played a role in the accident.

A Facebook memorial page has been set up where friends and the public can leave messages for the three victims.
