October  11 would have been the start of the regular NHL season had it not been for the lockout.

But neither the league nor the players’ association has been able to make any progress in contract talks that resumed earlier this week.

We asked hockey fans how they’ve been coping with a lack of hockey nights in Canada.

Some fans held a protest at the Air Canada Centre over the weekend, while others have taken their angst online and are telling NHL owners and players exactly what they think.
