Toronto police are investigating after a woman reported a man broke into her Parkdale home and sexually assaulted her.

The woman claimed the man tried to get in to bed with her. He reportedly got in through the balcony and fled the same way.

“She was able to fight him off and he fled the home toward Spencer [Avenue],” Const. Wendy Drummond told Citynews.

Officers set up a large perimeter near King Street and Dunn Avenue, east of Jameson Avenue, around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Search dogs were brought in to look for the suspect who was last seen running north on Spencer.

He is described as white, five-feet-nine-inches tall with a medium build and a shaved or balding head with dirty blond colour. He was wearing jeans and a grey T-shirt.

He may have an injured ankle or leg because he walked with a noticeable limp, police say.
