I’ve now watched this replay about a dozen times and I still can’t believe Davis climbed that wall. It might be another 23 years of baseball at the Rogers Centre before we see that again.
Amazingly, following the game Davis told reporters he and Blue Jays hitting coach Dwayne Murphy have been working on how to execute such a play, specifically, how to go about planting himself in order to time the jump.
“It takes a perfect ball to be able to time that right,” said Davis. “It was something you think about, you dream about doing something like that at the highest level. Just to complete it and do it is amazing.”
