The Toronto Blue Jays will play their first game of the season on the road against the Cleveland Indians on April 5 at 2:30 p.m.

The Jays home opener is set for April 9 against the Boston Red Sox and gets underway at 7:07 p.m. at the Rogers Centre.

The team hasn’t made it to the playoffs since winning the World Series in 1993.

If the Jays continue to play as well as they’re doing the pre-season, it could be a promising summer for Toronto. Aside from the solid pitching and offence, the team also has a strong defence.

The Jays have 20 wins so far this year — their second highest total in 36 seasons.
