Four students in Ohio have been wounded after they were shot at their high school.

The injured were taken to hospital but there were few details about their condition.

Authorities say a gunman opened fire in the cafeteria of Chardon High School on Monday morning.

That’s about 48 kilometres east of Cleveland.

The suspect, who is believed to be a student, was in police custody.

School administrators locked down the school immediately following the shooting.

Students were later evacuated to a nearby high school to be reunited with their parents.
