Hamilton police say a poppy thief has struck again, allegedly stealing two poppy donation boxes from a Tim Hortons early Tuesday morning, just days after snatching poppy boxes from two other Tim Horton locations.

Officers say the man came into the store on Barton Street East, near Grays Road, around 1:20 a.m. Police believe it’s the same man who allegedly stole poppy donation boxes from two separate Tim Hortons last week in Hamilton.

A still image and a video of the man were released Nov. 3. He is described as:

  • East Asian
  • early 20s
  • five feet eight inches tall
  • 165 pounds with a medium build
  • short black hair and a goatee

Meanwhile, in Toronto, a man who surrendered to police on Monday after a poppy box was stolen in Etobicoke was released on $3000 bail Tuesday.

Tomas Hvozdar, 26, is facing three counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of failing to comply with recognizance.
