Good news for families on a budget: admission to Ontario Place is free this summer.
To mark its 40th anniversary, the lakefront park will offer entrance to its grounds at no charge, which includes fireworks on Canada Day and hundreds of events.
Rides and attractions will cost extra – a day pass is $29 and includes access to a large water park, a wilderness adventure flume ride, and a kids’ “driving school.”
The iconic Cinesphere IMAX theatre will now offer Hollywood movies in 3D along with its usual educational short films.
And American concert promoter Live Nation is setting up a new outdoor venue on the site called Echo Beach at Molson Amphitheatre. So far, only Swedish pop star Robyn is scheduled to perform, on June 3.
Ontario Place opens May 21.
