After weeks without a winner, two people got lucky in Friday’s massive $50 million dollar Lotto Max jackpot.
The two new millionaires, one from Ontario and one from Quebec, will split the prize. Each will take home $25 million dollars.
But the country’s richest lottery still left cash up for grabs.
Of the 40 $1 million dollar MaxMillion prizes available, only 14 were either won or shared.
Those tickets were purchased in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces.
All the folks who wound up disappointed and empty-handed after this latest draw will have yet another chance next Friday, albeit with a (slightly) smaller jackpot.
Next Friday draw on August 20. will have a $36 million dollar jackpot.
Lotto Max has become incredibly popular during its first year in existence. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation reports the game has earned $1.48 billion in only its first 10 months.
In comparison, the game it replaced, Super 7, earned $760 million in its best year.
